Do Me A Solid

As a new mom, naturally I am very excited about all of Ivy's "firsts" as they are firsts for me as well. Eating solids is one that I've really been looking forward to, mainly just to see her reaction upon tasting something that isn't formula. Or cherry-flavored Tylenol which is apparently a real treat.

A few weeks ago, we tried out the rice cereal and she didn't seem too into it so we figured she's still young and there's no need to press the issue. We tried it again this past Sunday and found that she's definitely ready and eager for this new endeavor. Open wide!!!!

The rice cereal went over really well and she’s been enjoying it every day since so last night we decided to introduce her to vegetables. First veggie out of the gate - squash. Mommy and Daddy certainly aren’t picky eaters so surely Ivy will love whatever we put in front of her, right? Yeah, not so much.

We'll try the squash out again tonight as our "What to Expect the First Year" tells us that sometimes babies just need time to familiarize themselves with new tastes. Once she's happily devouring her vegetables, fruit should be a welcome addition. Or so we think. Stay tuned…
